The Roundup gives you a 360-degree look at everything Glide's been up to over the last month.
Hey Muh,
Welcome to the September Roundup. This month we're thrilled to have launched Glide AI in beta, but the fun didn't stop there. We also launched SSO to all users, and released our new Call API function with added JSON support. On top of exciting product updates, we had featured experts, awesome live events, and more.
Let's dive in →
🧠 Glide AI Now in Beta
This month we launched Glide AI, a set of building blocks that make it easy to create AI-powered apps with your business data. Add native AI features like generating text, converting audio to text, extracting text from images, and converting text into structured formats without the complexity of API keys, model configuration, or managing prompts. Glide AI is available on Pro plans and up. You can start a free trial of our Business Plan to experience native AI features today.
We're excited to announce that SSO has officially graduated from beta and is now available to all Enterprise customers. Connect Glide apps to your organization's identity tools like Okta, Azure AD, Google, and dozens more. Glide SSO is compatible with any IdP and supports SAML and OIDC protocols. You can add SSO to your apps in the Integrations tab and select your identity provider.
One feature of Glide AI that makes it so powerful is that it's a native feature in Glide. Differentiating it from 3rd party integrations, such as OpenAI. While our templates do not support 3rd party integrations like OpenAI, they do support native functionality like Glide AI. Meaning now, you can build Glide templates with AI features baked-in. We've just added a new AI category to our template store, and have added a few AI-powered templates to get the ball rolling. Check them out, and submit your own AI templates today.
As President of Centerline Business Services, Trey Heath is no newcomer to software development platforms and tools. When Glide unveiled its new AI capabilities, Trey and his team began to explore how they could bring AI to their existing workflows and projects.
"Before Glide AI, a financial analyst would write three paragraphs for every investment update. Then, we would need to manually email hundreds of investors a PDF of that month's financial performance. Glide has automated this entire process for us. It's amazing."
On September 14th, we were joined by Jesus Vargas from Low Code Agency who showed us how he built not one, but two AI-powered Glide Apps. The first app, Billing Buddy, is a sophisticated solution that utilizes AI to automatically generate new expense entries from photos of invoices. The second app, Content Creator, allows you to create content for any social platform that's tailored to your brand voice and audience, with high-quality images to make your posts stand out. This was one of our most interesting Build With Glide events yet.
Meet Darren, a Certified Glide Expert who has been with Glide from the start. An avid contributor to the Glide community, Darren has helped countless Glide users find success over the years. In fact, if you've ever been to our community, you likely recognize his name.
"As a long-time Google user, the prospect of turning a Google Sheet into a mobile app piqued my interest. I had a project in mind, and within hours, I had a fully functioning mobile app. That was the moment Glide stole my heart."
Connect your Glide apps to any platform. This week we're introducing Call API beta. You can now send data from Glide to external APIs and retrieve data right into Glide without the need for 3rd party tools like Make or Zapier. We've also improved JSON construction and deconstruction with two new JSON columns, making working with JSON in Glide easier.
Call API is available in beta on Business and Enterprise plans. Head over to our docs to learn more and get started.
