DEEP DIVE

SWITCHING NICHES Does Switching Niches Cost You Views? Bionic left Minecraft for Fortnite at 90,000 subscribers and 10,000 to 20,000 views a video. Everyone told him not to. His first Fortnite video got under 1,000 views, and for about six months the rest stayed in the hundreds. Then one unscripted video did 100,000 views in a week. We checked how often other channels lose views when they switch. Hear why he switched anyway →

What He Learned From Switching Twice After the switch, Bionic deleted or hid his Minecraft videos to show the algorithm he was a Fortnite channel now. He thinks it worked but isn't sure, and he'd never do it again. When he later switched back to Minecraft, he went in with a plan. He brought the thumbnails, ideas and title formats that worked in Fortnite, timed it to PewDiePie's return to Minecraft, and asked a Minecraft creator he was close to if he could join their group. "And it worked," he says. For cars, his other passion, he's starting a second channel instead of switching the main one. Hear How He Switched Back Talk soon, Rob from vidIQ
